The overuse of screens is decreasing mental, emotional, interpersonal, and physical well-being in people everywhere. We want to change these trends.
Our mission is to empower families to create healthy habits for screen use, and to maintain technology as a tool– never as a replacement– for human connection.
Healthy Screen Habits is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We help families establish healthy screen habits by raising awareness, providing tools, and taking action.
We enable tweens, teens, families, and students to decide for themselves how they will use technology in their lives.
In March 2018, our founding board members joined together to talk about the growing concerns surrounding smartphone use. Studies show that excessive exposure to activities like video gaming, social media, and pornography are having resounding negative effects on mental, emotional, interpersonal, and physical health. These problems all seem to stem from the same root: overuse of screen time.
We knew something needed to change.
Healthy Screen Habits is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was founded as the result of a group of friends from various professions deciding to take action.
Our Board is comprised of educators, social workers, and medical professionals skilled in the topics of health and well-being, children, and families. Our combined passions, education, and credentials qualify us for leadership in this new and necessary field of media health & digital wellness.
Our mission is to empower families to create healthy habits for screen use, and to maintain technology as a tool– never as a replacement– for human connection.
We bring awareness so that people understand the effects of technology and social media use on the brain and well-being. We enable people to decide for themselves how they will use technology in their lives.
We invite you to partner with us to be an ambassador for Healthy Screen Habits.
